Wicked Cool for Kids helps children develop their understanding of the world, whether it is investigating essential concepts in science, art, or technology. Our after school and vacation programs let kids get their hands and minds around two different, but equally important, ways of seeing, experiencing, and understanding life. By using both sides of their brain, kids develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world around them.
Extreme Earth: Attention junior geologists and elementary engineers. Come harness earth’s extremes as we investigate its awesome powers in the form of wind, water, weather, and sunlight. We will explore our wide world and focus on earth’s energy sources and the process of engineering amazing gadgets that transform energy into useful creations. Build solar cars to harness the power of the sun and explore earth’s magnetism and electrical energy. Dig deep into earth science when we build a better volcano, create a fantastic water filter, and classify some real fossils to take home.
Wicked Phab Physics Lab: Join Wicked Cool For Kids for a fun exploration of physics! Build zooming cars that can keep a passenger safe in case of a crash! Send a marble spinning down a shoot. Create a crazy cannon to fling a ping pong ball and build a rolling racer as we learn about Newton’s laws of motion and how things move in our universe.
Lego WeDo 2.0: This event teaches programming skills while making science come to life! The newly designed software and LEGO building kits allows kids to make untethered, free-roaming robots capable of completing structured and open-ended tasks. Build roaming bots that use sensors to know when to stop or create a shake table to test house designs to withstand an earthquake. Explore fun new programming options with WeDo 2.0 and take home your own mini figure!
Wicked Cool Med School: Is there a doctor in the house? Follow the progress of your own “patient” all week as we journey into the inner workings of the human body. Keep medical charts and become an anatomy specialist while learning the body systems. Create a “slime” cell, big bones, moving joints, and 3-D eyeballs.
